  • ELLE BARBEITO

    MIAMI, FL

Elle Barbeito is an artist and designer based in her native Miami, Florida. Her physical and emotional proximity to the Everglades, coupled with her Cuban father’s firsthand experience as a snake hunter, enticed Elle to familiarize herself with the necessary survival skills of hunting, skinning, and preserving animal skins for leatherwork. Her craft occupies a specific niche of reclaiming the land, as the primary source material comes from the ecologically invasive Burmese python (Python bivittatus). With the Python’s havoc over the Everglades’ ecosystem, the dialogue around this process comes at a necessary time: where creatives should think to blend intention, sustainability, and function within their practice. Her work has been featured by Dazed, A24, and the Miami New Times.

Morgan held several junior and high school titles before being crowned Miss Rodeo California in October of 2019. Morgan aims to continue her education and earn her Bachelor’s Degree of Science to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse.
